Microsoft has taken a significant step forward in the Software plus Services stategy with the announcment of the Windows Azure and the Azure Services Platform. One of the fundamental assumptions in this strategy is the availability of core infrastructure services. I thought I would point you to a very interesting blog entry by Michael Manos about Gen 4 Datacenters. I hope this provide you some insight.
