Hello! As a Product Manager at Microsoft who focuses on Dynamics GP and the volume opportunity, I am interested to get Partner feedback on the following questions: 1. If you had to build a fixed cost/fixed scope offer from scratch for Dynamics GP, what are the modules and what is the scope you MUST include to have a compelling offer? Also, what modules might you consider adding to create a "premium" fixed cost/fixed scope offer? 2. From your experience, what are the top 3 reasons why customers leave QuickBooks for Dynamics GP? I know I said two questions in the subject and really asked three, but who is counting anyways! :) I am eager to hear your feedback and look foward to watching the discussions on this site, and in this folder specifically! Thank you and take care, Andy Westby | Technical Product Manager, Microsoft Dynamics GP |

1. 90% of our clients use Inventory(SOP, POP, Inventory) , financial(G/L, A/P, Bank Rec. and A/R). But many ask us for proposals to implement only financial or inventory modules. A lot would like a web store with order and UPS shipping status with an online calatalog and online credit card payments. Some have also expressed an interest in CRM as well. Fixed price is pretty much next to impossible as the implementation time is typically dictated by the weakest user(s). You will not know how weak or how good the user(s) are until you are well into the project. Its best to give guidelines of approx 40 hours for inventory modules, 40 hours for financial modules, etc. They will not pay the cost for advanced management. 2. Third Party ISV addons ... Third party ISV addons ... Third party ISV addons. |

For some of our smaller clients CRM may be too much so a Quote, Order, Invoice integration with Outlook business contact manager like with Office Accounting would help close business. Office Accounting option to send e-mail invoices with the integrated PayPal option would also help. Track your expenses, pay bills, do online banking, and simplify the payroll process using the Office Accounting Professional 2008 integrated payroll services. Users would prefer an integrated/online to an in-house payroll service. For a 5-10 user system its a pretty big jump in cost and complexity. |
